The path to the London 2012 Olympics is tough and presents both a mental and physical challenge to those who want to compete there. Logan Campbell, a Taekwondo fighter from Auckland New Zealand, can at least lay claim to one of the most unique ways of getting to London this Summer.
In order to raise the $300,000 he needed to fund his trip to London, he opened a gentlemens club in 2009. He initially drew a lot of criticism though he eventually got the OK from New Zealand Taekwondo and the New Zealand Olympic Committee.
I’m unsure as to how he managed to train full time in Taekwondo and run a gentlemens club though it will be interesting to see how he performs at London 2012 and whether news organisations across the world will make a big deal of the way he got to the Olympics. Only time will tell :)
