Have you ever heard of the martial art Chun Kuhn Do? Don’t worry – I hadn’t either. It was developed my Master Kim Bok Man, the 11th Dan 78 year old Korean who brought Taekwondo to Singapore in 1963. He recently released a book about Chun Kuhn Do, what he considers to be an advanced style of Taekwondo rather than a tangent of it and has noted that he wants to bring the various Taekwondo forms back together.
On the official Chun Kuhn Do he notes that it has more applications than Taekwondo:
- Hand and foot techniques
- Grappling
- Free sparring
- Weapons
- Weapons sparring
- Self defense
10 weapons are used in the Chun Kuhn Do:
- Sword and double sword
- Cane
- Baton (short stick) and double baton
- Bayonet
- Knife and double knives
- Kamas
- Combat fan and double fan
- Pole
- Linked-batons (nun-chucks) and double linked-batons
- Spear
